Rains may make this weekend cooler for Chennai. Many weather forecasts confirm light showers in the next two days in nine districts of Tamil Nadu. In the last 24 hours, four cms of rain were recorded in two places in Kanyakumari district.
According to Skymetweather report, a trough is extending from South Karnataka up to the coast of south Kerala. There is also an extension of the confluence zone across Karnataka to many central parts of India, and it is moving closer to the Telangana region. As a result of it, west of Tamil Nadu is expected to receive rains in the coming days.
Pradeep John, another famous web blogger, says that if the westerly trough from north India dips from north to south in Tamil Nadu, it may have rains in many parts. But usually, this trough gets restricted in Odisha or north Andhra, and if this changes this time, rains may surprise Tamil Nadu. Also, he confirms that the regular day and night temperatures in the last few days are higher by 1 degree Celsius from 32 to 33 and 22 to 23, respectively.
The CMD or Chennai meteorological department has confirmed rains in the next twenty-four hours in nine districts including
