Vikram and Suriya Team Up for Velpari Under Shankar Direction

Velpari, a renowned Tamil novel by Su. Venkateshan delivers an authentic and vivid portrayal of ancient Tamil society and culture. The story centers around Velpari, a tribal chieftain of the Velir clan, one of the 16 clans of Parambu Nadu in the Western Ghats. Velpari remains an influential figure in Tamil heritage and is celebrated in Sangam literature for his generosity.

Director Shankar has copyrighted Velpari and recently claimed that a trailer for an upcoming film includes scenes inspired by the book. While these talks are ongoing, there's a strong buzz on social media that Shankar is in talks with two of Tamil cinema's biggest stars, Suriya and Vikram, for this adaptation.

If this collaboration happens, it would mark a reunion for Suriya and Vikram, who previously joined in the acclaimed film Pithamagan (2003). The ambitious project is expected to be released in three parts.
