Akshay Kumar Postpones PadMan For Padmaavat

Akshay Kumar's PadMan which was earlier scheduled as Jan 25th release had been postponed for Feb 9th.The high budget Padmaavat was releasing after so much of controversies, the star does not want to have clash with the movie that is releasing after several struggles. He had decided to push back his movie to Feb 9.
Sanjay Leela Bhasali directed Padmaavat is set as a solo release on Jan 25th prior to Republic Day. Akshay Kumar postpones his release to pay way for the solo release of Padmaavat. This gesture of the star is much lauded by the film industry. The director also thanks Akshay for his wonderful gesture and said he will be grateful to him for a lifetime.
Supreme Court had lifted the ban of the movie and ordered Maharashtra govt to release the movie. The movie had been censored with UA with only 5 cuts. It has got 12A by British censors which has the run time of 2 hours 43 minutes. and to be screened 18th Jan.
Padmaavat is an epic historical drama that has Deepika Padukone in title role while Shahid Kapoor as Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji play lead roles. The teaser, trailer and controversies around he film had grabbed large attention and raised curiosity on the movie among the audience across the nation.
Meanwhile, PadMan is based on the real life incident of the social entrepreneur Arunalchala Muruganandam of Tamil Nadu. The movie features Sonam Kapoor, Radhika Apte, Sundhir Pandey, Maya Alagh in key roles and Amitabh Bachchan will be seen as cameo. R Balki had directed and produced by Twinkle Khaana under Mrs Funnybones Movies associated with Columbia Pictures. The actress cum author Twinkle had turned to producer in this movie and she was invited to speak and showcase PadMan in popular Oxford University on Jan 18.
