Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati Gets UA With 26 Cuts

Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed period drama Padmavati is cleared with U/A after making 26 cuts and changing the title as Padmavat. The movie is likely to release on January end or Febraury early 2018. It stars Deepika Padukone as Padmavati, Ranveer Singh as Muslim invader Alauddin Khilji and Shahid Kapoor as Maharawal Ratan Singh.
It gets UA from censor board (Central Board of Film Certification) after the very long discussion of the panel members. They suggested 26 cuts and title change for the movie to issue the certificate. The details of modification are given to the producer Viacom 18 Motion Pictures and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali who attended the feedback session.
The movie which was made in a high budget of about Rs 200 crore had faced lot of troubles from politicians and certain group of people. It is said to be partially based on historical events of 13th century Rajput queen Padmini. The certain group had protested saying there are disrespect content of their queen. They fear there would be romance scenes between the queen and Alauddin Khiliji.
According to epic poem Padmavat, Khilji invaded the kingdom by motivation to capture the beautiful queen Padmavati. The movie songs are composed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and background scored by Sanchit Balhara. The teaser of the film was well-received by audience across the country.
